Hannah Andrews joined our ranks as a choral scholar in early January.  She is a mezzo soprano Vocal Performance major with a minor in Music Management.  This semester she has two roles in two different operas!  She is an assistant music director for Golden Blues Acapella, and she writes and records her own music.

All of our choral scholars, including Bridgett Baker, will be sharing a taste of what they do at our ‘Choral Scholar and Friends Recital’.  Joining them will be our friend, Connor Jones, who played Debussy on the piano beautifully at a worship service last month, and a few of Rob’s students, who are retired or nearly retired adults learning to sing or play an instrument for fun.

Joyful Noise Delaware Chorus is a group of adult singers with disabilities.  Rob’s group is an offshoot of the original group in New Jersey, founded by Allison Fromm who’s sister Beth loves to sing and has disabilities.  JN DE has sung in eight states, for the Phillies, 76ers, many American Choral Director’s Association conventions, at Harvard, Yale, Lehigh and Temple Universities, auditioned for America’s Got Talent, etc.  There are 24 commissioned songs written exclusively for JN, some of which we’ll sing at this concert.

Our George Kirk Concert Series returns with renowned trumpet-singer Barbara Prugh as soloist, and Rob Kennan as pianist/organist.  We will be performing a mix of classic and contemporary, well known and less well-known repertoire.
