October 24th & November 8th
For Halloween, we partnered with Newark Methodist Preschool for the annual Trunk or Treat event. It was an evening filled with cool trunk decorations and even cooler costumes!
We also hosted a Middle East Peace Talk event. It was a day filled with two very meaningful presentations. To learn more about the programs, click here.
December 19th
Here’s to hoping you all have a wonderful Christmas, our church sure ramped up the festivities through out fun Carol and Cocoa event hosted by the Chancel Choir!
We were also able to join in on this year’s festive frost-filled Winterfest!
Lastly, our staff celebrated the magic of Christmas together with a jolly staff luncheon!
December 24th
We hope you all had a very merry Christmas, I know we did as we celebrated through a wonderful set of Christmas Eve services!
We also hope you joined us for our beautifully sung Christmas concert!
February 18th & 22nd
Every day new and exciting things happen here at NUMC! Here are a few things that happened just recently at our church:
On Ash Wednesday we offered ‘Ashes to Go” on Main Street. This was a great way to get out into the community and remind them of how we all come from dust and to dust we shall return.
On Sunday 2/22, we celebrated 20 years of our Sonspirit worship service. it was a very fun event that reminded us of what that service exists to serve the community.
February 21st and 27th
Rescheduled due to the snow, we had our Chili Cookoff on February 27. We had a great turnout including a lineup of 10 different chilis and lots of smiling faces all competing for the coveted Golden Spoon.
On Saturday 2/21, we had a lot of people come out for our new art Make-and-Take series. We had a lot of great artwork and enjoyment come out of that day! We are holding more of these so be on the lookout for more information in the enews!
March 28th
To get into the Easter spirit, we held our first Easter-Themed Trunk or Treat event. It was a great day with lots of fun decorations! Thank you to all our participants!
April 25 & 26
Every day new and exciting things happen here at NUMC! Here are a few things that happened recently at our church:
It was a busy but very fun week here at NUMC! We started our weekend with our 3rd Make-and-Take series, followed by a brunch sponsored by the Wesley Foundation, and finally we closed out our weekend with our brand new Variety is the Spice of Life talent show benefitting Music Factory.
May 3rd, 7th, & 8th
On Sunday May 3rd, our 3rd and 4th graders received their new Bibles on Bible Sunday. Bible Sunday is a milestone in the faith journey of children in our community.
Our church family banded together to help out some fellow church members with yardwork during a two-day cleanup. Scroll through to see the before and after pictures of all their hard work. Nice work, guys!
June 7th
On June 7th, NUMC took over Frawley Stadium and enjoyed a nice Blue Rocks game together. It was a fun day of baseball for all who came!
The following Sunday, we met up for our annual church picnic at Kells Park. We had a brief worship service and enjoyed food, fun, and games with one another.
Lastly, we had our George Kirk Concert with Genieve Hahn and Rob Kennan.
