Members of the United Methodist Men strive: - To encourage knowledge of and support for the total mission of The United Methodist Church
- To engage in evangelism by sharing the fullness of the gospel in its personal and social dimensions
- To clarify and speak to the identity and role of the men in contemporary society
- To seek commitment to discipleship
- To study and become familiar with The United Methodist Church, its organization, doctrines, and beliefs
- To cooperate with all units of United Methodist Men in obtaining these objectives through district, conference, jurisdiction, and church-wide goals.
The General Commission on United Methodist Men (GCUMM) challenges all United Methodist Men charter units to: - Make a commitment to Spiritual Growth of Every Man in the local church
- Make a call for a few men in every church to support and encourage pastors through prayer and service
- Make a call and equip all men to have at least one godly friend with whom he is accountable as a disciple of Christ and to encourage men to build friendships across racial and cultural lines
- Declare young people our new mission field, and call and equip adults to lead young people into authentic Christian adulthood
We encourage each individual to: - Engage daily in Bible Study.
- Bear witness to Christ's way in daily work and in all personal contacts through words and actions.
- Engage in some definite Christian service.
