Summary The Outreach program is a very special combination of diverse projects from long standing NUMC programs and from “grassroots” initiatives of congregation members. The Chamberlain family led the spring intergenerational mission trip. Mary Alice Hinerman leads the clothing drive for Meeting Ground and the Verizon phone collection. Mary Alice Hinerman and Janet King spearhead the “Go Bag” preparation effort. Kathy Werrell collected food items left by university students at the end of the school year; these items were combined with contributions from members of the congregation and assembled by Outreach Team at the June meeting. Janet King leads the collection for school supplies and the year round collection for the Tree of Hope project. Team members work hard to continue traditional outreach activities including two covered dish suppers (April 3, 2005 & September); collection and assembly of Health Kits (partnership with Christian Education); preparation of bag lunches for Prison Fellowship and the collection of large sized coats for the women’s prison.
